The only thing which surprises me about the socialist transformation of my country is the lack of any kind of resistance to it from the educated class who should know better. Here’s a little story: I have a college-educated family member who recently found himself unemployed. This individual had always been a liberal but lately he supports the Marxist policies of the president even more, and I suspected that his dire economic circumstances had something to do with it. Since I am someone who knows that socialism only destroys jobs and lowers wages, I couldn’t figure out why he bought into the president’s Red propaganda. After thinking about a visit I had with him the other day, I believe I have the answer.
“Duh!” was what finally popped into my head. “Of course the radicals in the current administration want as many Americans out of work as possible,” I thought. “Think of how much easier it will be to make people permanently dependent on government!”
I have good reason to believe that President Obama is purposefully increasing the unemployment rate to create an army of desperate, easily controllable people like my relative in the above story. Folks with full bellies are not so eager to become slaves; they have the strength to resist totalitarianism. If the history of the 20th century has taught us anything, it is that a starving populace will bow down to virtually any type of dictator who promises food. With every percentage increase in the unemployment rate, disasters like socialized healthcare, massive taxes, forced unionization, and anything else the tyrants desire creep that much closer because hungry people will swallow anything, even the kind of garbage we are being fed by this administration.

i agree, just like Hitler, propaganda is inforced right now, which is simply "repeating one thing over and over again". CHANGE-is one of them. Exactly unemployed, poor and uneducated crowd will follow anything and anybody just to get economically more stable. That makes perfect sense to me. President signed the jobs bill, but i see more and more people being laid off or fired. WHy is that, i wonder? Oh., is it one of his sills that will be fulloy inacted in , say, 20 years? i might be f.... dead by then.!
sory for the typos:)
May I remind you guys that unemployment had begun to creep up since late 2007 and take a crescendo upwards in September 2008 to March 2009?
Although I'm certain that Senator Obama had it in the works then...
Secondly, the historical trend to move LEFT after crippling economic or military disasters is not part of some plot... it is only reactionary. People sought pragmatic ways to provide for themselves in time of dire need. Post WWII England passed Universal Healthcare in 1947 to provide care that otherwise pretty much no one could afford, or should they have just died from their wartime complications?
Third,
There are plenty of liberals that seek more safety nets that are not unemployed - in fact being far removed from that (myself, many friends and colleagues), because
there's a concept some business minded people here in America are privy to (The same concept that Scandinavian policy makers are aware of - think Nokia, Ikea, Oil Exploration, Revolutionizing Home heating...etc) - a healthier and more educated populace makes for better taxpayers!
....And it also makes better slaves.
Look, I understand that free people will inevitably turn to socialism at some point. (America is actually long overdue, according to the great critic of democracy Alexander Tyler.) My point is that governments are natural monopolists who can always expand their power by causing artificial shortages of food, jobs, doctors....you name it. Obama's chief of staff has said so in almost as many words! To think they aren't using the current economic crisis to their advantage is naive, but my proposition that Obama CAUSED the crisis himself is harder to prove. Let's just say he isn't in any major hurry to alleviate unemployment; he'd much rather persecute the only entities which can create real jobs and wealth with his Financial Bill and Cap-and-Trade. At this rate, we're gonna make the Great Depression look like a boom time!
